**The Review**

The movie Lift is a generic and forgettable action picture that Netflix just keeps pumping out, whether we need it or not. It’s not as aggressively glib as “Red Notice,” for example, but rather is more in line with “The Gray Man”: Competently made and star-studded, with a couple of intriguing ideas, but hollow 1. The  premise of the movie offers some pleasures, especially as the assignment becomes  increasingly complicated. But there’s so little to the characters in the screenplay from Daniel Kunka that it’s difficult to care whether they get away with it, and the special effects look so detached from reality that it often feels like  we’re playing a video game 1. The cast members tasked with supplying the laughs struggle to compensate for the script’s weak material. Lift fails to establish stakes or develop its  characters, falling short as both a comedy and an action film 2. However, Kevin Hart and Gugu Mbatha-Raw have great chemistry, adding tension and drama to the film. F. Gary Gray’s directorial choices make Lift visually appealing and entertaining. Despite some flaws in the script and side characters, Lift is a quality and enjoyable action-comedy worth watwatc.this movie total review 1.5 out of 3 .
