Migration: A Review of the Duck-tastic Animated Movie.

Rating;-2/3⭐️⭐️

Runtime:-1hr 31 min

** Introduction**

Migration is a family-friendly comedy about a flock of ducks who decide to leave their pond and join the annual migration to Jamaica. Along the way, they encounter many adventures and dangers, as well as new friends and enemies. The movie features the voices of Elizabeth Banks, Kumail Nanjiani, Awkwafina, Keegan-Michael Key, and Danny DeVito. Migration is a fun and colorful movie that will appeal to kids and adults alike, with its charming animation, witty humor, and heartwarming message.

**Animation and story**

One of the movie’s strengths is its animation, which is vibrant and expressive. The ducks are designed with realistic features and movements, but also have distinct personalities and emotions. The backgrounds and settings are rich and detailed, from the serene pond to the bustling New York City to the tropical Jamaica. The movie also uses creative visual gags and transitions, such as the ducks flying through a billboard or a map. The animation in Migration is comparable to that of Pixar or Disney, and shows that Illumination Studios can produce high-quality animation beyond their Minions franchise.

Another strength of the movie is its voice acting, which is well-cast and well-performed. The actors bring their characters to life with their distinctive voices and accents, and also have good chemistry and timing with each other. Elizabeth Banks and Kumail Nanjiani are convincing as the loving but opposite duck parents, Pam and Mack, who have to overcome their fears and differences. Awkwafina and Keegan-Michael Key are hilarious as the street-smart pigeon Chump and the laid-back parrot Delroy, who help the ducks on their journey. Danny DeVito steals the show as the grumpy Uncle Dan, who has some of the movie’s best lines and jokes.

However, the movie also has some weaknesses, such as its humor, which is sometimes too predictable and juvenile. The movie relies heavily on slapstick comedy and physical humor, which can get repetitive and boring after a while. Some of the jokes are also aimed at very young audiences, such as fart jokes, poop jokes, or silly names. The movie could have used more clever and subtle humor, or more satire and parody of the genre, to appeal to older viewers and make the movie more memorable.

Another weakness of the movie is its story, which is not very original or innovative. The movie follows a familiar formula of a fish-out-of-water adventure, where the protagonists have to face various obstacles and learn valuable lessons along the way. The movie also borrows many elements and tropes from other animated movies, such as Finding Nemo, Madagascar, Rio, The Lion King, etc. The movie does not offer much surprise or twist, and the ending is predictable and cliché. The movie could have been more creative and daring with its story, or more focused and coherent with its themes, to make the movie more distinctive and meaningful

**The Review **

Migration is a decent and enjoyable animated movie, but not a groundbreaking or outstanding one. It has its moments of fun and charm, but also its flaws and limitations. It is a good choice for a family movie night, but not a must-see for animation fans. I would give it a rating of 2 out of 3 stars. If you are looking for a more original and inspiring animated movie, I would suggest watching The Boy and the Heron, the latest masterpiece from Hayao Miyazaki,
